About our speaker:

Jeremi Suri holds the Mack Brown Distinguished Chair for Leadership in Global Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. He is a professor in the University's Department of History and the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs. Professor Suri is the author and editor of ten books on contemporary politics and foreign policy, including The Impossible Presidency: The Rise and Fall of America's Highest Office.

Professor Suri's writings appear widely in blogs and print media, and he is a frequent public lecturer and guest on radio and television programs. With son Zachary, Professor Suri hosts a weekly podcast, This is Democracy. He is a popular public lecturer and an award-winning teacher. Jeremi is most proud of his family. He has two teen-age children in Austin schools, and his wife is Dr. Alison Alter, the City Councilperson for Austin District 10.
