An Austin tradition.
Since 1984, the Metropolitan Breakfast Club (MBC) has provided a
weekly forum for Members and Guests to hear community and business
leaders speak out. It is also a place to enjoy good company, do
business, and have a great buffet breakfast at the University
of Texas Club.
Our speakers
They have a passion.
At the MBC, you get to meet and hear some of Austin's most interesting
people speak on a variety of subjects - and then ask them tough
questions. Our speakers are insightful, engaging leaders in their
respective fields. As a Member of MBC, we welcome your speaker and
topic suggestions. (Just click on the Suggestion Box on this
website)
Our topics
Enlightening . . . often entertaining.
At the MBC, you get to hear topics ranging from transportation to
taxes, football to finances, high tech to highways, literature to
legislative issues, energy to entertainment, community growth to
child development - stick around long enough and you'll soon learn
what's really going on in Austin, Central Texas and beyond.
Our relationships
We are a unique membership organization.
At the MBC, friendships abound. We are not a high-pressure
leads club, but everyone is encouraged to trade cards and do business
in the pleasant atmosphere we offer. Join us to chat over a cup
of coffee, find out more about your neighbor at the table, and remind
us what you do in the Member/Guest intro session. Our online Membership
Directory also offers you a chance to market your business to
the club, and to the community at large.
Our membership
Guests quickly discover we are an open, outgoing group.
Our membership is a cross-section of Austin's business and professional
community. It runs the gamut - from attorneys to accountants, entrepreneurs
to engineers, high tech to high rollers, hotel managers to hair
designers, realtors to retailers, bankers to business consultants,
and advertising to association executives.
